Okay, a few things:
1. Today is the 70th anniversary of Lou Gehrig's "I consider myself the luckiest man on the face of the Earth" speech at Yankee Stadium, one of the greatest speeches of all time. ESPN has put up a lot of his letters from his final year - click here - they're a sad, but interesting read.
2. Today is the 26th anniversary of Dave Righetti's no-hitter against the Red Sox. I remember sitting in the Gaztke's pool next door, listening to it on the radio. Still seems like yesterday.
3. Happy Birthday, America...and if you aren't America'd out yet, here's some serious patriotism from a guy who craps red, white, and blue.
